Addysg Oedolion Cymru | Adult Learning Wales came into being on the 1st August 2015 through the merger of WEA Cymru and YMCA Wales Community College.

Senior Officer HSE

- £
28,213 per annum starting salary, progressing to £35,562 per annum

About the Job
You will oversee estates management at Addysg Oedolion Cymru|Adult Learning Wales and ensure that health, safety and environment (HSE) standards and legislation are implemented and continually improved. Responsible for leading the organisation’s estates strategy, you will manage minor works and capital building projects. You will establish an effective risk management strategy and implement and maintain a system for recording, reporting and investigating injuries, accidents and dangerous occurrences. You will be responsible for assessing HSE training needs across the organisation and developing and delivering HSE awareness training.

About You
You will be educated to degree level or hold a relevant professional qualification. You will have an excellent working knowledge of HSE legislation and proven experience applying this in a working environment. The successful candidate will have a sound understanding of conducting health and safety inspections and making business recommendations for improvements. You will have a proven track record of the delivery of HSE management systems and of providing advice and guidance in this area. Experience of estates and facilities management would be an advantage

We are especially interested in tutors who have subject specialism and are also qualified to deliver Essential Skills from entry level to level 4 and / or have the ability to teach through the medium of Welsh and / or bilingually.
